PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our Primary program provides stimulating active learning stemmed from a solid foundation cultivated in the early years. There is an increased emphasis on the students becoming independent learners as well as working collaboratively amongst themselves in groups. Language and Literacy focuses on reading comprehension, critical analysis, and discussion of materials read. Writing workshop is a daily course where students further their learning of the writing process (drafting, editing, revising and publishing) covering different genres across the curriculum.

Mathematics is taught through the Everyday Mathematics program which focuses on expanding problem solving, critical and strategic thinking skills that students can apply to their daily lives.

IT is integrated across the curriculum. Each student has their own Mac Book Air, which is used to publish work, create presentations, and also as a tool to research social studies, science and art topics. Students frequently go on excursions to museums and exhibitions to enhance their learning, apply the knowledge that they have gained, and to make connections with the world around them.
